Aug 29, 2009, Complete Audit of the Federal Reserve

Are there any Zeitgeist Movie fans out there? One of the discussion in that movie was how the federal reserve runs unchecked and unanswerable to anyone. In fact most people, PHD's included, cannot effectively explain what the federal reserve does, other than print money.

I was reading the Huffington Post yesterday and bless their hearts, Ron Paul and Barney Frank have put forth a bill to give the federal reserve a "complete audit." It seems everybody wants to know what the heck goes on in the FR. This is awesome news for everybody. Transparency is an absolute must in government.

And shock of shocks, Wall Street is against this Bill and so is the Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase etc.

It sure seems what is good for these guys is bad for us, and what is good for us is bad for them.

A rather serious story came across my desk today. I was unaware of this but it seems that videos of homeless people getting beaten or humiliated have spiked online. There are 86,000 videos posted on Youtube showing these beatings. You read that right. 86,000. Where is the love for your neighbor? Where is the compassion for a fellow human being? How did this become acceptable to the point that people want to film it for entertainment? I am so disturbed by this I want to scream. Have we really come to this? It's like a bad movie BUT ITS REAL :-(
